IFOAM – Organics International

Project Description

Kauswagan’s shift to organic agriculture and the ‘From Arms to Farms’ program, transforming former conflict zones into thriving farming communities, resonates with the theme, “Food Systems for Our Future: Joining Forces for a Zero Hunger World” because this model emphasizes sustainable practices and showcases increased food production and poverty reduction, aligning with the conference’s goal of building resilient food systems for a hunger-free world. Such efforts, spanning more than a decade, made significant contribution to peacebuilding efforts in southern Philippines while healing the soil, conserving our natural resources and uplifting the lives of citizens. Overcoming challenges for a number of years, this is an innovative approach to conflict resolution through localized food sufficiency efforts to end hunger.
