Klöckner: “Trade is indispensable for world food supplies”
71 Agriculture Ministers decide in GFFA final communiqué to strengthen rule-based free trade
“Food for all! Trade for secure, diverse and sustainable food” – this was the key theme of the International Conference of Agriculture Ministers, to which the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Julia Klöckner, on 18 January 2020 welcomed 71 colleagues and representatives of twelve international organizations in Berlin. The Commissioner of the African Union, Josefa Sacko, gave the keynote-speech of the conference. At the end of the intensive discussions, the participants jointly adopted a communiqué which was presented to Aidarbek Saparov, Deputy Minister of Kazakhstan, as host of the next WTO Ministerial Conference, Alan Wolff, Deputy Director-General of the WTO, and Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the FAO.
