Digitalisation is profoundly and sustainably reshaping our current agricultural and food industry at all stages of the global value chain – from agricultural holdings to the retailers’ shelves. The round table “Digital transformation in the global agri and food business – prospects and challenges for entrepreneurs” set within the framework of the GFFA 2019 will give the panellists the opportunity to discuss perspectives and challenges of the digitalisation of the agricultural and food industry from different angles.
Actors from the private sector will articulate their demands and wishes for new digital applications. The focus will be on solutions for the integration of digital applications as well as the responsible use of digital apps, especially with regard to the secure use of Big and Open Data. In concrete terms: precision agriculture on the field and in the stable, autonomous processes, just-in-time production, traceability, labelling, food safety, customer satisfaction – digitalisation offers great potential for sustainable and efficient, socially accepted production all along the entire value chain.
