Cooperatives in Germany can look back on a history of far more than hundred years. They were founded in times of dire need and developed into modern service providers in all areas of agribusiness. Cooperatives belong to the pioneers of digitization in agriculture and the food industry. The approximately 370 enterprises in our group supply the agricultural sector with the necessary resources, distribute plant products and ensure a functioning technology. They even enable and support the digitisation of smaller farms.
Members and representatives of cooperatives will explain how their cooperative has successfully taken up the challenges of digitisation: Small as well as big. With own solutions or as an intermediary between finished products from different suppliers and the respective needs of farmers.
A panel discussion will examine the question whether and how the cooperative concept can offer opportunities in developing and emerging countries and why joint solutions are more sustainable than individual ones.
